The Engine Room Meets Brad Wagner and Garrett Folger | Album

The Engine Room (2027)

Recorded live at SUMA Recording Studio as part of its SUMA Sessions series, The Engine Room Meets Brad Wagner and Garrett Folger brings together The Engine Room trio, pianist Jackie Warren, bassist Aidan Plank, and drummer Jim Rupp, with tenor saxophonist Brad Wagner and trumpeter/flugelhornist Garrett Folger for nine tracks celebrating jazz composition and collaboration. Featuring six original contrafacts by Plank and Wagner and three additional original compositions by Wagner, the album reimagines familiar chord changes while honoring the contrafact tradition. Captured in single takes before a live studio audience, these performances showcase the chemistry, creativity, and spontaneous musical interplay of five musicians exploring fresh possibilities within a timeless tradition. Out January 15, 2027, on Hidden Cinema Records.
